Agility Robotics has signed a [commercial agreement with AGCO](https://www.agilityrobotics.com/content/agco-and-agility-robotics-advance-smart-manufacturing-with-humanoid-robot-pilot-in-hesston-kansas-facility?ref=tao.media) to pilot its Digit humanoid robot at the agricultural equipment maker's production facility in Hesston, Kansas. The pilot is expected to begin in 2027, extending Agility's industrial robotics work into agricultural machinery manufacturing.

Digit's initial assignments will involve sorting and stacking parts and placing totes into storage in support of assembly and production operations. The companies aim to reduce repetitive, physically demanding work, improve ergonomics, and free employees for more skilled tasks.

AGCO sells agricultural machinery and precision farming technology through brands including Fendt, Massey Ferguson, PTx, and Valtra. For Agility, the [agreement](https://x.com/agilityrobotics/status/2112518192245481689?ref=tao.media) adds another manufacturing sector to a customer roster that includes Toyota, logistics operator GXO, and industrial supplier Schaeffler, moving beyond its automotive and logistics work.

Thomas Enghof, AGCO's director of manufacturing technology, said the company sees humanoid robots and AI as factory "teammates" that can take on repetitive, strenuous, or hazardous tasks. He emphasized combining robotic engineering with human expertise and safety governance.

Digit can be paired with Agility Arc, a cloud-based platform for deploying and managing robot fleets. Agility says the combination helps customers integrate automation without extensive infrastructure changes or costly facility upgrades.

The agreement follows Agility's [introduction of Digit 5](https://tao.media/agility-robotics-unveils-digit-5-humanoid-for-safer-factory-work/?ref=tao.media), which added higher payload capacity, faster charging, and a safety architecture for work closer to people. Those changes target a broader range of factory workflows beyond tote movement.

Agility is also preparing to go public through a proposed business combination with Churchill Capital Corp XI. The company expects the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, after which the combined business is expected to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker AGLT.
