Agility Robotics will [standardize Digit 5's onboard computing on NVIDIA IGX Thor](https://x.com/agilityrobotics/status/2113223851853398358?ref=tao.media), giving its next-generation humanoid a common computing platform ahead of wider deployment in factories, warehouses, and distribution facilities.

The transition makes NVIDIA the [exclusive onboard compute provider for the general-availability version of Digit 5](https://www.agilityrobotics.com/content/agility-robotics-expands-nvidia-collaboration-as-it-prepares-digit-5-for-commercial-scale?ref=tao.media). It also expands an existing safety collaboration as Agility prepares the robot for commercial scale.

[IGX Thor](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/edge-computing/products/igx/?ref=tao.media) is NVIDIA's industrial-grade edge AI platform with onboard AI processing, sensor-data handling, security, and functional-safety capabilities. Edge computing runs those workloads locally on the machine. The platform includes a dedicated safety processor to isolate safety-critical workloads from other computing tasks.

Agility is integrating IGX Thor and additional NVIDIA Halos models into Digit's proprietary safe human detection system. The company intends the combination to expand the robot's perception capabilities and support certification and deployment.

Agility will also participate in NVIDIA's Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab, which will evaluate Digit's safety-related software, AI components, and cybersecurity protections ahead of final third-party certification. This extends the companies' earlier Halos collaboration; Agility was the first company to announce with NVIDIA that it would incorporate elements of the platform into its safety system.

"Moving to NVIDIA Thor modules gives us a common foundation as we advance Digit's capabilities and prepare for broad commercial deployment," said Agility Chief Technology Officer Pras Velagapudi.

The work is part of NVIDIA's [broader robotics safety integration effort](https://tao.media/nvidia-adds-isaac-os-and-isaac-lab-3-0-as-agile-robots-unveils-research-humanoid/?ref=tao.media), with other industrial robotics developers also incorporating Halos into their systems.

Agility reports more than 65,000 hours of real-world operation across Digit robots. It is also expanding the infrastructure around customer deployments, including a planned [50,000-square-foot Pittsburgh software, AI, and service hub](https://tao.media/agility-robotics-plans-50000-square-foot-pittsburgh-hub-for-digit-ai-and-service/?ref=tao.media) and a [2027 pilot at AGCO's Hesston, Kansas, factory](https://tao.media/agco-plans-2027-digit-humanoid-pilot-with-agility-robotics-at-kansas-factory/?ref=tao.media) for sorting and stacking parts and placing totes into storage.

The company expects its [proposed merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI](https://tao.media/agility-robotics-moves-closer-to-nasdaq-listing-after-sec-clears-churchill-xi-merger-filing/?ref=tao.media) to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the combined business expected to trade on Nasdaq as AGLT.

Early access to Digit 5 is expected to begin in the first half of 2027\. Agility plans to increase availability over the following six to nine months for manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution operators.
