Bittensor’s TAO token has been added to the Virtune Coinbase 50 Index ETP following the product’s latest quarterly rebalance, expanding the index’s exposure to the subnet economy.

Virtune announced today that five new digital assets were included in the physically backed exchange-traded product, bringing the total number of assets in the index to 26. Alongside TAO, the rebalance added Dogecoin, Hedera, Render, and Arbitrum.

Following the update, Bittensor carries a weight of 0.21% in the index.

The Virtune Coinbase 50 Index ETP tracks the Coinbase 50 Europe Index, a market capitalization-weighted benchmark designed to represent leading crypto assets. The product is listed across several European venues, including Nasdaq Stockholm and Helsinki, Euronext Amsterdam and Paris, and Xetra.

The index is rebalanced quarterly to reflect market changes and maintain representation of what Virtune describes as the most relevant digital assets. After the latest rebalance, the largest allocations remain concentrated in Bitcoin at 50.00%, Ethereum at 26.38%, XRP at 9.65%, and Solana at 5.21%.

Virtune reported that the ETP delivered a return of negative 16.68% in February.

The Coinbase 50 Index is positioned as a broad crypto market benchmark constructed using market cap weighting and eligibility screening. The methodology excludes stablecoins and privacy coins and was developed in partnership with Coinbase Asset Management and Market Vector Indexes.

TAO’s inclusion in the Virtune Coinbase 50 Index ETP places the token alongside some of the largest assets in crypto, marking another notable step in the asset's growing institutional visibility.
