# Tesla Adds Grok Connectors and Bot Tasks for Hands-Free In-Car Work

Tesla has added new Grok work features inside its vehicles, moving the in-car assistant beyond voice chat and basic information requests toward hands-free productivity.

In an [official announcement](https://x.com/Tesla/status/2102430656349544590?ref=tao.media), Tesla said Grok in the vehicle can now do "meaningful work" through Connectors, allowing users to manage an inbox, clean up a calendar, or talk through existing files, chats, and tasks by voice. A follow-up [Tesla post](https://x.com/Tesla/status/2102430744450875800?ref=tao.media) said Grok Bot can handle more involved requests, including placing a usual coffee order, booking a reservation, or scheduling an appointment.

The rollout ties Tesla's cabin interface more directly to xAI's broader Grok product stack. It also introduces a split between general Connector-based productivity and more complex agentic tasks, with Tesla saying Grok Bot access is currently available to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers before expanding to more tiers.

## Grok Connectors Bring Work Apps Into the Vehicle

Connectors are the main addition for everyday productivity. Users can set them up through the Grok app by opening the app, tapping the plus button, selecting "New Connector," choosing a service, and signing in. Once configured, Grok can use those connected services automatically in the vehicle.

That setup lets the car act on account-level context from connected tools, such as email, calendar entries, files, chats, and task lists, depending on which services a user has authorized.

Drivers get voice-first triage. Instead of manually checking an inbox, reviewing a schedule, or searching through files from a phone or laptop, the user can ask Grok to summarize, organize, or talk through that information while in the car. 

## Grok Bot Starts With SuperGrok Heavy

Tesla's second announcement focused on Grok Bot, which is meant for more complex tasks that go beyond summarizing or discussing connected information.

The examples Tesla gave were practical personal-assistant tasks: ordering a user's usual coffee, booking a reservation, or scheduling an appointment. Those tasks require more steps than a normal voice command because Grok needs to interpret the request, interact with an outside service or workflow, and complete the task according to the user's preferences.

Tesla said Grok Bot is "currently available to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers, with more tiers to follow." 

Supported vehicles generally need AMD-based infotainment hardware, commonly found in many post-late-2021 vehicles, along with recent vehicle software. Older Intel-based Model 3 vehicles are unsupported for now.
