Astrid Intelligence Publishes Commentary on Bittensor Volatility, Cites Network Resilience

Astrid Intelligence says recent volatility in the Bittensor ecosystem did not disrupt core network operations, following a subnet exit and broader market reaction.

Astrid Intelligence PLC has published a shareholder update addressing recent volatility in the Bittensor ecosystem, following the exit of a prominent subnet operator earlier this month.

Astrid, which is listed on the AQSE Growth Market under the ticker ASTR and focuses on building, acquiring, and running infrastructure in Bittensor, framed the event as a short-term disruption rather than a structural failure of the network.

Volatility Follows Subnet Exit

In its April 24 commentary, the company noted that Covenant AI's departure on April 10 triggered price declines across certain subnet tokens and TAO.

While some external commentary characterized the event negatively, Astrid said the network continued to operate as intended throughout the period.

Yesterday, we reserved judgment. Today, it’s time to call a spade a spade. This was a rug pull masked as a frustrated, genuine builder’s final resort.

Core Mechanics Remain Intact

The company emphasized that key aspects of the Bittensor protocol remained unaffected, including network infrastructure, token balances, and emission mechanisms.

In its view, this reflects the design of decentralized systems, where no single participant has the ability to disrupt core functionality.

Astrid also pointed to continued activity across affected subnets, with multiple teams signaling intent to contribute to ongoing development following the exit.

Outlook Remains Unchanged

Astrid described the recent volatility as part of the normal maturation process for emerging decentralized networks, noting that governance and protocol development continue to evolve.

How Bittensor Gets Stronger Post-Covenant Rug Pull
Following Covenant AI’s rug pull, the proposed “Locked Stake” model aims to prevent future harm by tying subnet ownership to long-term stake commitment.

The company said it was not materially impacted by the recent events and reiterated that its strategy is based on broad participation across the network rather than reliance on any single subnet or operator.

They remain focused on its infrastructure-led approach within Bittensor as activity and institutional engagement in the ecosystem continue.
