Bittensor has released V437, introducing first-class miner collateral alongside air-gapped transaction signing, onchain key lineage and several operational upgrades for subnet teams, miners and large holders.
ELI5 TL;DR:
Bittensor’s V437 upgrade gives subnets a new way to make miners put some money at risk when they join. Instead of burning the full registration fee, a subnet can lock part of it as collateral. Miners gradually earn that collateral back by doing useful work and receiving emissions. If validators stop rewarding a miner, the remaining collateral stays locked.
The upgrade also lets users sign transactions on an offline phone through Polkadot Vault, so their private keys never need to touch an internet-connected computer.
V437 additionally improves key tracking, multisig controls and stake transfers for subnet teams and large holders.
