For those not familiar, Wu-Tao serves as the central hub for Bittensor network insights and is the primary destination for users to stake, unstake, and swap assets across Bittensor subnets.

The new release enables users to stake TAO either to root or any of Bittensor’s 128 subnets. Users can also move between subnet positions through an integrated swap mechanism, removing the painful need to manually unstake and re-stake assets when reallocating positions.

Staking on Wu-Tao

Staking on Wu-Tao is fully non-custodial, meaning users retain control of their crypto assets and private keys at all times. According to Safello, staking rewards are distributed automatically by the protocol directly to users’ wallets.

Safello CEO Emelie Moritz said:

The update also introduces a beginner-friendly user interface, including a series of subnet pages that offer users a clear overview of balances and positions held in their private wallets. Wu-Tao has also added a new interface model that combines a balances and positions overview with a single-page trading experience.

Safello Co-Founder & Chairman Frank Schuil added that the team also introduced synthetic pairs:

He also commented in the official PR:

"Bittensor continues to evolve, and tools that help users understand and participate in the network play a central role in that development. With staking now available on Wu-Tao, our focus has been to provide clear functionality and a reliable interface that supports both new and experienced participants. We see this as a step toward greater transparency and broader engagement in the ecosystem."
