Pocket has crossed $100 million in annualized run rate eight months after launching its AI notetaking device, making it the fastest Y Combinator-backed hardware startup to reach the milestone.
The company, which makes a credit-card-sized device that records in-person conversations, phone calls, and meetings, reached the milestone seven months after passing $1 million in annualized run rate. More than 270,000 Pocket devices are now in use globally.

The device captures conversations offline and later syncs them for AI-generated transcripts and summaries, supporting more than 120 languages and working as a portable notetaker for meetings, interviews, and calls.
Instead of relying on a phone, laptop, or meeting bot to record conversations, Pocket users carry a small standalone recorder that works offline and syncs later. That approach appeals to people who want less friction in live settings, where opening a laptop or using a visible meeting bot can feel awkward.
I think Pocket's early traction is attributable to how practical the device is (you can attach it to your iPhone, instead of needing to carry two separate devices), and how easy the task/benefit is to understand. The device captures what was said, turns it into a searchable transcript, and summarizes the main points afterward.
Very straightforward, and clearly a value add to people's lives.
Pocket's growth comes during a crowded and uneven period for AI hardware. Several companies have tried to build dedicated devices around AI assistants, notetaking, or ambient computing, with mixed results. Many have struggled to explain why users need a separate device when smartphones already have microphones, apps, and AI assistants.
The team has reported 50% month-over-month growth since launching in October 2025.
