Until May 8, Bittensor subnet founders received a free token allocation before any outside staker could buy in. Here is what the v3.3.15-402 hotfix changed, and why it matters for your position in new subnet launches.
Bittensor has been building toward subnet governance since the network scaled. After Covenant AI sold 37,000 TAO without warning and departed on April 10, getting Conviction to mainnet became the immediate priority. Here is what it does and why it matters.
Solana posted a cryptic neural network video. Sunrise DeFi started posting about TAO. A Tao.com CEO flew to Miami with a "Top Secret Announcement." The theory wrote itself.
Bitcoin OGs are taking notice of TAO, and it's because the similarities are apparent. They're running the same structural analysis they ran at $12 BTC. Fixed supply. First halving done. Real utility. The pattern is unmistakable.
Taostats launches Bittensor Auth Gateway, enabling apps to use wallet-based login with permissions derived directly from on-chain identity and network state.
Astrid Intelligence says recent volatility in the Bittensor ecosystem did not disrupt core network operations, following a subnet exit and broader market reaction.
xTAO completes a validator upgrade on Bittensor, reporting improved performance and an 8.86% annualized yield, with its validator now ranked fourth on the network.
The new platform aims to help institutional capital evaluate risk and flows across Bittensor’s subnet economy
A complete guide to TaoRevenue and TaoFlute: what every metric means, how to read them, and how to use both together to evaluate any Bittensor subnet.
Following Covenant AI’s rug pull, the proposed “Locked Stake” model aims to prevent future harm by tying subnet ownership to long-term stake commitment.
General Tensor raises $5 million in oversubscribed seed and pre-seed rounds to expand its vertically integrated infrastructure across the Bittensor ecosystem, generating TAO through mining, validation, and subnet operations.
Citrini saw the displacement spiral. The jobs gone, the Ghost GDP, the Mastercard crash. What they missed: where the agents spend their money. Autonomous agents will optimize themselves to be the most intelligent. How? It doesn't stay in the centralized AI economy. It routes onto Bittensor.
Bittensor's subnets are running some of the most complex and consequential machine learning challenges in the world. The friction keeping the best ML talent from working on them has never been ability. It's been blockchain overhead. The Subnet Mining Hub removes it entirely.
180,000 developers endorsed OpenClaw. Then security researchers found 1,800 leaked API keys, not from hacks, but because builders had nowhere to run AI agents reliably. Basilica (SN39) fixes this: verified GPU compute that slashes collateral for failures, pays in TAO, no credit cards required.
Bittensor CEO Jacob Steeves steps down from the Opentensor Foundation, ushering in a new era of decentralized governance.
AI agents are already mining TAO on Bittensor subnets, optimizing emissions across multiple subnets around the clock. This guide explains how agentic mining works, what payback timelines can look like, and how to set it up safely in 2026.
