Meta is launching Meta Enterprise Platform, a new effort to package the company's AI stack for businesses and developers, while naming former MongoDB CEO and President Chirantan "CJ" Desai as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer.
Mark Zuckerberg announced the move in an X thread that was also published on Meta's Newsroom. He described Meta Enterprise Platform as the "next major pillar" of Meta's business and a broader push around AI agents, infrastructure, and developer-facing tools.
"We believe superintelligence will create significant new opportunities for all people and businesses. Meta already serves billions of people at scale and helps hundreds of millions of businesses reach customers. Today we are starting the next major pillar of our business, Meta Enterprise Platform, to help businesses use AI to grow and transform in new ways as well."
Meta Brings Muse and Business AI Tools to Enterprises
Zuckerberg said Meta Enterprise Platform will initially focus on bringing the company's "full technology stack" to businesses and developers.
"Meta Enterprise Platform will use our strengths that few other companies have: advanced models, leading agents, large-scale infrastructure, and years of working closely with many businesses. Initially, we will focus on bringing our full technology stack, including the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, Muse Code, and more to businesses and developers to help them grow."
That list gives the first outline of how Meta wants to turn its AI work into business products. Muse is being carried from Meta's consumer agent push into an enterprise context, while Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code point toward a broader stack that could include agent deployment, customer interaction, developer integration, and software-building workflows.
Distribution is what changes. Meta already operates consumer platforms at global scale and supports advertising and business tools used by large numbers of companies. Meta Enterprise Platform suggests the company now wants to make its AI agent stack part of that business-facing layer, competing more directly with cloud providers, enterprise software vendors, and AI infrastructure companies that are already selling agent and model tooling into organizations.
CJ Desai Joins to Lead the New Platform
Meta is putting the new platform under Desai, who will report directly to Zuckerberg. Desai most recently served as CEO and President of MongoDB. Before that, he led product and engineering at Cloudflare and spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow, including as President and COO.
"To lead this effort, I'm excited that Chirantan "CJ" Desai will join Meta as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer, reporting directly to me. CJ is an experienced enterprise leader with a track record of building full-stack software and delivering results in AI, infrastructure, business applications, and security. He has an extensive industry network that we look forward to partnering with. CJ joins us from MongoDB, where he was CEO and President. Before that he led product and engineering at Cloudflare and spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow, including as President and COO."
Meta's enterprise effort depends on more than model capability. Selling AI systems into companies requires product packaging, developer surfaces, customer support, security controls, privacy assurances, partner relationships, and integration with existing business workflows. Desai's background puts Meta's new platform closer to enterprise software execution than a one-off AI product launch.
In a statement published by Meta, Desai said the platform will focus on making Meta's AI stack usable by companies inside their own operations.
"Meta Enterprise Platform will focus on turning its AI stack into products and services that companies can deploy for their own businesses. As with Muse, security and privacy are built into Meta's enterprise products from the outset. Our goal is to make Meta the place enterprises come to scale their businesses."
A Business Platform Around Meta's AI Stack
Meta's announcement comes shortly after the company expanded its Muse-related AI work, but this filing is separate from the consumer Muse launch and Connect product updates. The enterprise platform is a business-structure announcement that places Meta's AI agents, APIs, code tools, and infrastructure under a dedicated enterprise leader.

AI agents are increasingly moving from demos into distribution battles. Beyond models that can answer questions, companies need systems that can connect to business data, handle customer interactions, support developers, meet security expectations, and operate reliably inside existing workflows.
Meta is arguing that its advantages come from combining models, agents, infrastructure, and business reach. The company already serves billions of users and says it helps hundreds of millions of businesses reach customers.
Meta Enterprise Platform is an attempt to turn that existing scale into an enterprise AI channel.
